昨天在 Taiwan.CNET.com 看到 Fedora市佔率擴大 Red Hat下滑 這篇.
網路服務廠商Netcraft公司分析了400萬個網站，瞭解各家網站伺服器都使用哪些Linux版本。該公司調查顯示，40萬以上的網站在三月份使用Fedora，比去年九月上升了122%。
使用Red Hat Enterprise Linux的網站則在過去六個月中減少了2萬台，不過目前仍以161萬台(在受訪的400萬個網站中)的部署率高居最常用的網站伺服器作業系統。
其他Linux版本在過去六個月的使用量也都也增長。免費版的Debian與Gentoo，以及商用版的Mandrakesoft與SuSE分別增加了14%，45%，17%與11%。
剛好 wise 前幾天跟我提到 MI 那台機器的未來.
我的看法是這樣.
反正我們用的配備又不是什麼 "怪傢私" , 也沒有裝 Oracle DB , 在 Linux distribution 多到很難選的情況下, 我還是比較偏好 BSD 派的 FreeBSD . :p
不過如果還是沒辦法找到 shadow 轉 master.passwd 的方式的話, Gentoo 可能是不錯的選擇? O_o
